Losing a parent is one of the hardest experiences a child can face. For many orphaned children in Bangladesh it also means hunger, poverty, an education cut short, and a future nobody is holding open for them.
The order in which help arrives matters. A child who is hungry cannot concentrate in a classroom, and a child who is unwell cannot attend one at all. So our Orphan Care programme begins with the plain necessities, food, clothing and health, because until those are steady nothing else a child is offered can take hold.
Once that ground is firm, education is what changes the direction of a life. School fees, books and materials are usually the first thing a struggling household gives up, and the hardest thing to return to once given up. Keeping a child in school through the difficult years is often the single most valuable thing a sponsor makes possible.
None of it works without somewhere safe to grow up. Children need to be protected, encouraged and treated with dignity by adults who know them by name, in the communities they already belong to. That is the difference between a child who is kept alive and a child who is genuinely cared for, and it is what your support pays for.
