Our commitment
Donating and getting in touch should not depend on how you use the web. We treat accessibility as part of building the site rather than as a separate task, and we would rather fix a real barrier someone reports than publish a claim about how accessible we are.
What we have done
The following are built into the site today and have been checked during development:
- Keyboard access. The site can be navigated with a keyboard, and every page begins with a "Skip to main content" link so you do not have to tab through the menu each time.
- Visible focus. Whatever you have focused is outlined clearly, so you can always see where you are.
- Headings and structure. Pages use real headings in order, with one main heading per page, and lists are marked up as lists so a screen reader can announce them properly.
- Text contrast. Text and link colours were checked against their backgrounds for readability rather than chosen by eye alone.
- Responsive layouts. Pages have been measured from small phone widths up to large desktop screens, with no sideways scrolling and no text cut off.
- Reduced motion. Page content does not animate as you scroll, and the small amount of movement that remains is switched off automatically if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Forms. Fields have visible labels, and when something is wrong the message is announced rather than shown only as a colour.
- Tap targets. Buttons and links on small screens are sized to be comfortable to tap.
Standards and good practice
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as the reference for how the site should behave, and we aim to follow them.
We do not claim formal conformance. This site has not been independently audited or certified against WCAG, so we will not state a conformance level we cannot evidence. Our testing has been carried out by the people who build the site, using keyboard navigation, browser tools and measurement of the rendered pages.
Known limitations
We would rather name these than leave you to discover them:
- The site has not been tested with every combination of screen reader and browser, and behaviour may vary between them.
- Some images are decorative and carry no description; others may have descriptions that could be more useful than they currently are.
- Donation and contact forms have several steps. They can be completed with a keyboard, but they have not yet been reviewed in detail with every assistive technology.
- Some content, such as blog articles, is added over time, and we may not catch every accessibility issue in new content immediately.
If you meet a barrier that is not listed here, please tell us. A report from someone who actually hit the problem is more useful to us than any checklist.
Ongoing improvements
We continue to work on the accessibility and usability of this site. When we change or add pages, we check the things listed above, and we treat accessibility problems reported to us as faults to be fixed rather than as suggestions.

It helps us if you can tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what device, browser or assistive technology you were using. You do not need to know the technical cause.
